UW-Extension helps build strong families which serve as the foundation for family life. We do this by enhancing family relationships, parenting, child development, nutrition, family financial literacy, and the community institutions that promote family well-being.

Understanding Your Teen: Book Discussion Group

Is your teenage son or daughter puzzling you? Have you ever asked yourself questions like: Is this typical teenage behavior? Am I the only parent whose teen acts this way? Join other parents to read and discuss fiction books written for young teens (12-15-year-olds) that can help you learn about issues teens encounter in their lives. Discussion groups will meet in Lodi and Portage beginning in February 2010.

Children in the Middle

Children in the Middle site

Divorce or separation can be stressful for all members of a family. However, research has found that children will do better in getting through this transition if parents can keep children out of the middle of conflict that often accompanies divorce or separation. This class helps parents learn how children might be put in the middle and strategies to insure that this doesn't happen. While the course is primarily designed for parents who are divorcing/separating, the skills also apply to parents who were never married and are co-parenting a child.
