What do I need to do?
Avoid using roll-over controls that load a new page or move the user to another location. Provide text descriptions and redundant links for pop-up menus.
How do I do this?
Include the text of pop-up information in the alt text for the graphic. Provide redundant links for pop-up menu items. These links can be placed in top, left or bottom navigation.
Why is this important?
Roll-over controls make navigation difficult for people who have trouble using a mouse or rely on a keyboard for navigation. Additionally, screen readers cannot access pop-up menus.
