Vision Statement
As innovative leaders, we will engage in programs, services, and partnerships that provide the highest quality Lifelong Learning. Our commitment to lifelong learning is based on a belief that our clients can best meet the challenges of success in the 21st century if they have the opportunities for learning throughout their lifespan. Our commitment to quality inspires us to provide programs and services that our participants and partners value highly. Our commitment to innovation supports our continuous search for new content, products, methods, formats relationships, and technologies to expand and enhance learning.
To achieve our vision, over the next five years, University of Wisconsin Continuing Educators will focus on the following strategic directions critical to meeting the needs of our learners:

Dean's Office
The Continuing Education, Outreach and Learning Extension Dean's Office can connect you to lifelong learning opportunities across Wisconsin. The Dean's Office is responsible for the statewide planning and coordination of Continuing Education across the University of Wisconsin System. Working with the UW institutions, the Dean's Office of the Continuing Education, Division of Continuing Education, Outreach and E-Learning:
- Develops system-wide plans that indicate areas of need and priorities
- Focuses program efforts
- Coordinates extension programs carried out by the UW institutions
- Provides system-wide leadership with a planning framework and process
- Links the statewide long range plan with the annual and strategic plans of the UW institutions
- Provides accountability for the expenditures and outcomes of the UW System extension function
- Provides for the collection and reporting of relevant data, including the impact of our programs

Our Units
University of Wisconsin-Extension Learning Innovations
A collaboration of Continuing Education, Outreach and E-Learning and University of Wisconsin System. UW Learning Innovations provides instructional design and development, faculty development and learner services to the 26 UW campuses in support of their online degree and certificate programs and courses.
The oldest university-based labor education program in North America, School for Workers provides approximately 150 programs each year for union representatives, officers, members and employer representatives.
Providing information and advising on UW System programs and services to current and prospective students and families. For 30 years, HELP has been the central location for answers to questions about admission, registration, majors and programs, financial aid, and residence life.
Offering anywhere, anytime learning since 1892. UW Independent Learning offers more than 300 accredited university, high school, vocational, and continuing education courses that provide the flexibility to complete assignments and exams at your pace without ever setting foot on campus.
