Courtney works for the Wisconsin Education Association Council and is an Adjunct Professor with the School for Workers. She was an assistant professor with the School from November 2004 through November 2006. Prior to that she worked as labor representative/organizer with the American Association of University Professors (American Federation of Teachers), as well as an adjunct professor in Rutgers University's Labor Education Program. Courtney's other experiences include working with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), the Service Employees' International Union (SEIU), the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), and the U.S. Department of Labor's pension and health care benefits division. Courtney's areas of special interest include pension and health care issues, capital stewardship, collective bargaining, organizing, strategic campaigns and labor law.
