Youth Leaders and Officers Provide Direction and Leadership to 4-H Clubs

 

4-H Club Officer and Youth Leader Training Resources

  • Youth Leaders and Officers - Club Officers are a special leadership opportunity. The following publications are important training materials.
  • Southern District Leadership Team - SDLT began in 1999. Its purpose is to bring Wisconsin 4-H youth in grades 8-12 from across the Southern District together to provide opportunities for older members to identify 4-H needs in the district and practice leadership skills. Through SDLT, with support from a team of 4-H agent advisors, youth identified issues and needs common to most counties in the district. The 4-H members participating in SDLT then developed the following teaching materials related to the needs identified. The teaching plans have been successfully used by youth and adult presenters in a variety of workshop sessions.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document President (21 pages, 160 KB) 4-H Club presidents will gain skills, knowledge and insights to use as they assume this leadership role.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document Vice President (21 pages, 77 KB) 4-H Club vice presidents will gain skills, knowledge and insights to use as they assume this leadership role.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document Secretary (17 pages, 244 KB) 4-H Club secretaries will gain skills, knowledge and insights to use as they assume this leadership role.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document Treasurer (29 pages, 516 KB) 4-H Club treasurers will gain skills, knowledge and insights to use as they assume this leadership role.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document Reporter (6 pages, 269 KB) 4-H Club reporters will gain skills, knowledge and insights to use as they assume this leadership role.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document 4-H Action Center Instructions and Ideas (33 pages, 604 KB) 4-H Club members will learn the elements needed for successful action demonstrations and ideas to create an educational and fun Action Center at their local community event or county fair.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document Junior Leader (42 pages, 963 KB) 4-H Club members assuming junior project leader roles will gain skills, knowledge and insights to assist them in their position.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document Quick and Easy Guide to Parliamentary Procedure (17 pages, 531 KB) 4-H Club members will learn and practice the basics of parliamentary procedure that will lead to fun and effective club meetings.
    • Adobe Acrobat Document Team Building Activities (25 pages, 238 KB) 4-H Club members will learn and practice team building using the variety of activities in this guide.

Other Youth Leadership Training Resources

    PowerPoint Officer Training Challenge (54 slides, 327 KB) - The PowerPoint is an interactive game that can be used in Officer Training or part of a 4-H club meeting. It teaches the roles and responsibilities of officers that provide leadership to the 4-H club.
