Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Honors Tom Lyon With The 2007 President's Award

The annual Wisconsin 4-H Foundation’s President’s Award is presented to commemorate those who have had a substantial and lasting impact on the 4-H Foundation and the thousands of youth who participate in 4-H activities across the state. Tom Lyon, a dedicated Wisconsin 4-H supporter, recently received the 4-H Foundation’s President’s Award.

Tom Lyon has been an active supporter of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation for many years. In 2002, Lyon retired as CEO of Cooperative Resources International (CRI), a Shawano-based business whose support of the Wisconsin 4-H began in 1994 and still continues.  Lyon served as the President of the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation Board of Trustees and as a member on the Major Donor Committee.  He was helpful in creating the successful partnership between the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, which was crucial in raising funds for the Calf in the Classroom project, as well as sponsorship of several Wisconsin 4-H educational events.  Lyon also played an influential role in the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation’s involvement in the 2006 Wisconsin CowParade.

Through the support of Tom Lyon and other individuals, organizations, and businesses in the state, Wisconsin 4-H is able to give Wisconsin youth the opportunity to acquire life-long skills and to build life-long friendships.  To learn more about the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and its positive impact on the community visit http://4h.uwex.edu/foundation/index.cfm
