2012-13 4-H National Invitational Information

Youth interested in qualifying for the 2013 National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational will need to compete in Wisconsin 4-H Shooting Sports Competitive Events offered in 2012. This year many 4-H Shooting Sports competitive events will be used in determining who will represent Wisconsin at the 2013 National Invitational. Information on specific disciplines which are offered at various Wisconsin 4-H Shooting Sports events are listed at WI Qualifying Requirments for the 4-H National Invitation Shoot. Registration information for 2012 Wisconsin 4-H events is located here. Qualifying Shoots are designated as NQE (National Qualifying Event).

Wisconsin age requirement to qualify for National Invitational: The age requirement for 4-H members to attempt to qualify at a statewide invitational will follow the national requirement below. Those who meet this age requirement will automatically have their scores submitted to the state for National consideration the following summer. For example: If you shoot in the required number of statewide events for your discipline(s) in 2012, you will receive an application in November 2012 for the National Invitational in the summer of 2013. National Age Requirement:
Participants must have passed their 14th birthday by January 1st of the current year and may not have passed their 19th birthday before January 1 of the current year in which the National 4-H Shooting Sports Invitational is held.

Applying for National Invitational 4-H Shooting Sports competition: Those who meet the Wisconsin 4-H Shooting Sports qualification requirements will receive a letter and an application. The letter and application for the National Shoot will be US mailed to you at the end of November for the National Shoot occurring in June of the next year. For example if applying for 2013 National Shoot: If you participate in 4-H statewide shoots during the summer of 2012 and you meet the requirements, you will receive a letter of invitation and an application in November 2012. The letter and application would be for the 2013 National 4-H Shoot. Your completed application would need to be returned by the January 2013 deadline. Once the top four teams are set (four to a team), you will be notified in late January of your team status. Your registration fee would then be required in March 2013. Coaches would contact team members to start practice in April and May. The National Shoot would then take place around the end of June 2013.
