Project Outcomes
Here is what we would like to see happen by 2007 related to the
efforts of CYFAR Wisconsin.
In Milwaukee, participating youth will have increased knowledge
of science, as measured by scores on the State Standards test.
In Wausau, participating youth will be comfortable taking on leadership
roles among their peers in their school community.
In both communities, participating youth will teach other youth
practical skills.
During FY2003, both CYFAR projects:
1. Learned more about youth participants in their programs, including
cultural considerations of working with African-American and Hmong
American communities.
2. Learned more about working with school districts and administrators in
their communities.
3. Strengthened relationships with community partners and organizations.
4. Hired staff that serve as role models for youth.
The Milwaukee Project also:
1. Facilitated conversation among day school and after schoolteacher's
regarding academic goals.
2. Leveraged additional funding from a community partner.
The Wausau Project also:
1. Innovated an evaluation format that includes digital pictures
into feedback form. These pictures focus on youth doing their after-school
activities and serve to help youth self-reflect.
2. Prepared to run the CYFAR 4-H Highlanders through summer 2003.
