Summit Tracks
Beginning Camp Counselor: Build your foundation to become an amazing 4-H camp counselor! Track sessions include: Ages & stages of youth, cabin activities, expectations and roles of a counselor, camp is for the camper, problem solving through group initiatives, campfire training, Cabin Hill Challenge, circle dances, and the Amazing Upham Woods Counselor Challenge.
Experienced Camp Counselor: If you have served at least one year as a 4-H camp counselor this is the track for you! Improve your skills and learn how to be an effective leader with campers and your fellow counselors. Track sessions include: coaching/mentoring skills, advanced conflict management, leading your peers, and advanced counselor scenarios. Put those skills into action by serving in a leadership role during the Cabin Hill Challenge and Amazing Upham Woods Counselor Contest. Register early for one of the 20 available spots in this track!
Volunteer Adults: Come and participate in any of the workshops or sign up for the CPR/1st Aid certification workshop (Saturday, 10:45 am – 5:00 pm, with lunch break) and/or the Low Ropes Course Facilitator Training (6:30 – 9 pm Saturday & 8:30 - 12 noon Sunday). Adults will be expected to provide some youth supervision during the conference.
Your county does NOT have to camp at Upham Woods.

Starts at 9:00 am on Saturday; Ends at 12:00 pm on Sunday
- Cost: $55/counselor & $35/adult (additional $40/adult charge for optional Red Cross 1st Aid/CPR Certification)
- To register, contact your county 4-H UW-Extension staff.
- Check with your county 4-H organization to see if your county will help with some of the costs.
- Overnight accommodations are available for Friday night (April 15th) at $17/person. Youth must be accompanied by an adult chaperone.
