About Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center…

Upham Woods is located on the scenic waterway of the Wisconsin River in Wisconsin Dells. It is operated through the University of Wisconsin-Extension Service and the Department of Youth Development. Throughout the fall, winter, and spring months, many schools, scouting groups, and youth groups attend Upham Woods to participate in residential environmental education programs. During the summer months, Upham Woods is home to county-based 4-H camp programs. Public programs and open houses are also held year round at Upham Woods.

Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center also offers its interactive environmental educational programming in local schools, community centers or anywhere youth meet. This option allows school groups, scouts, 4-H or church groups who may not have the means to attend a full day or overnight program at Upham Woods, access to the center's exceptional curriculum and teaching staff.

How much does the outreach program cost?
Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center staff will travel to your classroom and teach any of the following programs. All programs are one hour long and intended for one classroom ( 25 students maximum). The cost is $50/ class plus round trip mileage to and from Wisconsin Dells ($0.50/mile). Our Radical Raptors Program is also available for large school assemblies at a rate of $150 per one hour assembly plus mileage. NEW! We have added energy education programs.
