Iron County Youth in Governance Programs

 

  • As part of the local comprehensive planning process, 40 students took pictures of how they would like their community to look in 20 years and how they would not like it to look, created presentation boards, and presented before 25 adult leaders on their findings.
  • Youth in Iron County reached across the border for a two-day retreat with youth from Gogebic County, Michigan to build leadership skills and plan projects. Four action teams were formed by 17 youth to address issues including school funding, recycling practices at school, and teen activities in the community.
