Self
Initiated Performance Review (SIPR) Review 360° Feedback Tips
A very important
part of the SIPR process is the 360° feedback process. 360° feedback
is a method to systematically collect opinions about your work performance
from clients, colleagues, program areas and local stakeholders….people
who see you in action at work. When the feed back is shared with you,
it enables you to identify both areas for growth and your existing
strengths.
- Feedback is designed to provide YOU with information about how others
see you. You won’t learn much if you ask only people whose responses
you can predict. In the long run, you will miss the opportunity to
improve yourself.
- In most cases, people will be more honest if the
feedback
is returned to a third party in a manner that ensures confidentiality.
- Use the best instrument available to collect feedback.
- Discuss
the feedback with a coach who can provide you with perspective on
what you’ve
learned. More detailed information about 360° degree feedback
is available to view as a PDF file at http://www1.uwex.edu/ces/admin/360.pdf
