Winter feed supplies
First came heavy rains, delaying corn planting and alfalfa cutting. In July, usually cool weather slowed crop growth. The northern part of the state was hit with a wide spread frost in August. Throughout the state, farmers wonder if they will have enough feed to see their livestock through the winter and how the freakish weather will affect the nutritional quality of that feed.
