Field of romano beans sprayed on May 30 showing herbicide damage, stunting, bulby roots, some death of plants, volunteer potatoes in field show leaf epinasty, cupping and curling. Sides of field and spray around irrigator wheels show effects of herbicide so with near certainty injury is from weed spray. Beans off ends of boom on side of field are significantly taller. Coop sprayed spring oats with banvel and 2,4-D just prior to this field. White ruler is 12" with 1" in ground, Grey ruler is 15" with 1" in ground. These are Loyal and Withee silt loams over some really nasty, heavy glacial till in Northeast Clark County. Topography is flat. What can be done to help alleviate this situation? Probably will be no tillage possible this fall so what can be done next spring, what kind of crop would be best to plant next year and should manure be applied to add some organic matter?
