Turfgrass ID (repost)
Submitted by Mike Maddox on 7/16/2009
I'm reposting this as the first attempt at uploading the image failed (it was too big) and I can't figure out how to edit previous posts.

I think this is rough bluegrass (Poa triv.) and I wanted a second opinion. The 'onion like sheaths' and the folded veination seem to be there.

rough bluegrass?

It's harder to ID grasses without being able to handle them. Some key features for rough bluegrass are folded leaves; sheath that is distinctly flattened, rough, and split part way; leaf blade that is slightly rough on top, margins rough at least near boat-shaped tip, and stoloniferous growth. Looks like you probably have a match.
