Pear Leaf problem
Submitted by Craig A. Saxe on 4/23/2012
A homeowner brought these leaf samples in of her pear tree. Any idea what's causing the blistering and red coloration. And for an added bonus, what's crawling around on the leaf. Thanks Craig Saxe

Craig:

Double check with Phil Pellitteri on this, but I think this is blister mite damage.

The symptoms are classid pear leaf blister mite- this is a gall caused by an eriophyid mite- Too late to treat- but damage is mainly cosmetic- .I suspect other critters are aphids but can not get enough detail from the photo
