Case Details
Grape beetles
Submitted by George Koepp on 6/5/2012
These beetles were found on some grapes. Malathion did not seem to control them. Vineyard would like them identified and then a suggested control method.

beetle 1
Beetle 2
Beetle 3

Those are rose chafers- only find in sandy areas- but act much like Japanese beetles- There is a beetle trap you can order from Great Lakes IPM

A number of foliar products are registered but will only control them for 3-4 days- Beetles are active for 2-3 weeks. ( bifenthrin, permethrin and sevin are also registered.
