unidentified vine

This vine started growing along client's house this spring and already reached the roof line of the house. ID? and should it be removed?

This looks like it could be Similax (Smilax in some places) herbacea or "Carrion Flower". It is an herbaceous perennial native to prairie and semi-timbered woodland. You can find information at http://www.illinoiswildflowers.info/savanna/plants/sm_carrion.htm

Eileen is correct it is a smilax species. We have several native to WI.
