Beetle ID

Homeowner brought these beetles in for ID. They are 1/4" to 3/8" long. They have been coming into his garage everyday after he opens the door. What are they and should he be concerned? Thanks.

It is a carabid ground beetle- they only eat other insects- but attracted to lights at night- will not breed inside so of no concern
