Pagoda Dogwood leaf discoloration

Homeowner is concerned about leaf discoloration in a Pagoda Dogwood. Last year she lost a 5 year old tree that showed similar symptoms at about this time. A third tree is showing no symptoms. The distressed dogwood is 10 years old and is located on NE side of house. This tree is in a more open location than the other two. Any help would be appreciated

Rich:
I'd look for some sort of systemic stress that is limiting water and/or nutrient uptake. I do on occasion see root rot problems on pagoda dogwood. That in combination with our recent dry weather might be leading to the symptoms you're observing.
