Here is the background on the vision and future of the program planning committee.
Why Do We Plan?
- To be responsive to expressed needs of the public
- To ensure the continued relevance of ongoing programs
- To provide accountability to our sources of funding
- To organize our collective and individual resources
Basic Principles of the Program Planning Process
- Faculty and staff must work on an interpersonal level to plan educational programs
- The planning process must actively encourage county/campus and crossprogram area collaboration
- The priorities and interest of our external partners must be identified and integrated into our program planning
- Access to the information resulting from the planning process is essential for telling the Extension story
Cooperative Extension Program Planning Will:
- Look to future opportunities and challenges
- Acknowledge our external partner's planning efforts
- Be based on UWEX mission and capacity to deliver effective programming
- Take the full spectrum of our client's needs into consideration
- Require the participation of all UWEX faculty and staff
- Exemplify UWEX leadership priorities & vision
- Help guide the allocation of organizational resources

- Working group will draft process
- Dissemination of draft via web page and email
