Northern EDGE Market Studies

The Northern EDGE Market Studies component promotes informed decision-making to advance successful economic and workforce development efforts by filling data gaps.

Selected studies include:

• "Identification of Regional Employment Centers in Northern EDGE Region and Preparation of a Cookbook "

• "Industry Cluster Analysis of the Northern EDGE Region"

• "Economic Prosperity: The Luck of the Draw or a Reflection of Preparedness?"

• "Economic Development Opportunities and Challenges: An Analysis of Wages and Incomes of the Northern EDGE Region"

These regional studies focus on laborshed analysis, regional cluster analysis, wage and income growth analysis, and entrepreneurial opportunity and readiness analysis.  

This research intends to provide community specific, industry targeted data that help guide economic and workforce decisions.   Selected studies involve some means of local input and/or collaboration with the targeted twenty-nine northern Wisconsin counties.   Study findings will be presented to economic development professionals at the Northern EDGE concluding conference scheduled in spring 2004.
