Profile Submission Requirements:

Northern EDGE Profiles of Best Practices showcase community economic development strategies and techniques that are occurring or have occurred in Northern EDGE counties.   If you would like to submit a profile for your community please review eligible profile economic development strategies/initiatives, review the required profile submission content, then link to the "Profiles of Best Practices Worksheet" under the guidelines to submit Northern EDGE Profiles of Best Practices.

Eligible Profile Economic Development Strategies/Initiatives

Northern EDGE Profiles of Best Practices submissions are required to address one of the following nine approaches to community economic development:

•  growing and expanding existing area businesses,

•  stimulating entrepreneurship,

•  attracting new businesses,

•  capturing outside dollars,  

•  attracting financial resources,

•  building community capacity for economic development,

•  engaging in community development activities,

•  increasing the efficiency of public goods and services, and

•  maximizing worker development.    

 

In each of these strategies, profiles will be considered community economic development activities if they were initiated or generated by community-based partnerships in order to address local economic issues.


Profile Submission Content

Northern EDGE profile submissions are required to address the following:

Complete the Northern EDGE Profiles of Best Practices worksheet (click here) and mail to the attention of Alan Anderson, Director, UWEX Center for Community Economic Development, 610 Langdon St., Rm. 336, Madison, WI   53703 or fax to (608)263-4999, or edit the Microsoft Word version of the worksheet and send as an attached file to:

alan.anderson@ces.uwex.edu

 

Profile Publication to the Internet:

Publication of submissions on the Northern EDGE Profiles of Best Practices website will be competitive.   All profile submissions will be reviewed according to the following criteria:

•  Following submission guidelines.

•  Describing innovative economic development strategies.

•  Describing economic development strategies with positive and significant outcomes.

•  Describing economic development strategies that may be replicated.

•  Describing economic development strategies that provide net economic gains for Northern Wisconsin .

 

A review panel will make decisions on whether to accept nominations as submitted, make minor or major revisions, or reject nominations if they do not follow profile requirements.   After submission of your profile, you may be contacted for further information.
