Congratulations on your new position! We are glad that you are here! On behalf of the Classified Staff Organization (CSO), we’d like to welcome you to Cooperative Extension and to what we trust will be an exciting professional opportunity for you!
There are about 75 classified employees in Cooperative Extension – on campuses and in county offices. We’d like to help you make a smooth transition into your new position.

Classified Staff Website
We encourage you to continually visit the Cooperative Extension Classified Staff Website. This is your one-stop website where you can look up a variety of opportunities such as professional development available from UW Extension, UW-Madison, OSER -the State Office of Human Resource Development (OHRD) and relevant professional organizations.
Cooperative Extension Classified Staff Organization
In the Fall of 2006 an organization for classified staff was formed. This followed a year of intensive discussion and planning. The purpose of the Classified Staff Organization (CSO) is to promote a positive professional environment for all classified employees (represented, non-represented, limited term and project appointment); to encourage informed communication, professional development and collective decision-making; and to serve as advisors to the Cooperative Extension Dean and Director on matters of interest to classified staff. The organization promotes a spirit of trust, respect and equality among all members of the Extension community while supporting Cooperative Extension’s mission. You can look to this organization to be an advocate for you. You are also invited to become an active participant.
Again we want to welcome you – this is a time when you are meeting many new people and perhaps learning all-new business procedures. We hope you soon feel at home in Extension.
