Conference Theme

"Trust and Transformation" refers to the two main tracks of the conference - responsibility based culture and transformational education. Trust is a guiding principle of responsibility based culture and transformational education.

Participants will explore how to create trust-based environments throughout Cooperative Extension. Keynote speaker Keith Ayers, president of Integro Leadership Company, will teach participants:

  • Core values that build trust
  • How to unleash creativity and innovation
  • How to encourage and practice divergent thinking
  • How to be self-directed

The second keynote speaker is David Bornstein, author of “How to Change the World, Social Entrepreneurs, The Power of New Ideas.” He will describe how people around the globe are solving the world’s problems with initiative, creativity, savvy and determination. These “social entrepreneurs” are similar to Extension educators who practice transformational education. Both base their work on foundations of trusting relationships.

Conference Expenses

Conference activities, meals and lodging will be paid by Cooperative Extension.

Travel expenses to and from the conference should be paid by county offices, campus or state units, or participants’ organizations or agencies. Cooperative Extension employees who cannot get their travel expenses paid by their offices or units should contact their district director or program leader.

Conference participants are urged to travel together to economize.
