Farm Program Crop Commodity Update Meetings

Amidst everything else there is to do on a farm during the fall, this year there will also be leaning about a new farm bill and its related provisions to contend with.  From a crop commodity standpoint, there are three programs that are of primary interest:  Loan Deficiency / Marketing Loan Program, Direct Payment Program, and the Counter Cyclical Payment Program.  Along with each program, is a set of rules and requirements related to actual production, base yields, and/or base acres.  Currently, the Feds are still sorting-out the details.  Those will hopefully be known within the next few weeks.  In conjunction with the Fond du Lac County FSA office, we will be offering three opportunities for crop producers to learn more about the commodity programs at update meetings being held later this month and early November.  Details as follows:

The same information will be presented at each meeting.  Gary Terlinden, Fond du Lac County FSA Director, will present pertinent information related to each program and answer questions.  We will also walk through some examples of how each program operates.
