YSI has generously contributed $25,000 in travel assistance for volunteer monitoring program coordinators to attend the 2012 National Water Quality Monitoring Council (NWQMC) Conference & River Rally Bridge Day in Portland, Oregon April 30- May 4. Kudos to YSI for their exceptional support of volunteer monitoring participation! This travel assistance is intended for volunteer monitoring program coordinators who cannot obtain other forms of support from their state or organization. The funding is not just for presenters. Funding is limited to $850 per person and can cover registration, lodging, and/or transportation expenses. It will not cover food or other incidentals. Recipients who request support for lodging will receive support for ½ the conference group room rate ($65). To apply for funding please click on:

http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HMWQBLT

The application period ends at 11 PM Eastern time on February 3, 2012. After the closing date, all applications will be reviewed by a subcommittee of the National Water Quality Conference Planning Committee. We will notify all applicants of their selection status via email by February 24, 2012 and will keep a waiting list in case a selected applicant cannot attend. Recipients must register for the conference by March 2, the end of the lower-cost early registration period, and make hotel reservations by March 29, the deadline for the hotel room group rate. This will enable us to help as many people as possible.
