DEVELOPMENT
There are numerous economic
development opportunities at the county and local level within
Calumet County. A county-wide Economic Development Coordinating
Committee has been meeting since October 2002 to plan and develop
the future of Calumet County’s economic development programs.
Economic development efforts are also increasing at the local
level.

For statistical information, research data, and economic opportunities
in the Fox River Valley, visit the Fox
Cities Economic Development Partnership website. This site
includes a link to a UW
Extension study of the economic structure of the Fox Valley
as a PDF file.
Local Economic
Development
The Cities of New Holstein and Brillion completed Downtown Business
Market Analysis projects in 2002. These reports provide guidance
to these communities about the types of downtown businesses to
retain and recruit. Electronic
copies are available on the UW Extension Center for Community
Economic Development web site.
Tools and Publications
The UW Extension Center
for Community Economic Development provides a number of economic
development resources, including tools for downtown business development
and revitalization; business newsletters; and tourism research
and reports.
A monthly newsletter
featuring a brief synopsis of research of a policy or related
topic on community economic issues, Community Economics, is available
from the Department
of Agricultural and Applied Economics.
