Welcome to Crawford County Extension

Mission

With an office in each Wisconsin county, Cooperative Extension develops practical educational programs tailored to local needs and based on university knowledge and research.

County-based Extension educators are University of Wisconsin faculty and staff who are experts in agriculture and agribusiness, community and economic development, natural resources, family living and youth development.

Extension county-based faculty and staff live and work with the people they serve in communities across the state. Extension specialists work on UW System campuses where they access current research and knowledge. Collaboration between county and campus faculty is the hallmark of Cooperative Extension in Wisconsin.

Swine flu viruses have been reported to spread from person-to-person, but in the past, this transmission was limited and not sustained beyond three people. The current swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human.

Do you have access to broadband? Do you need access?

The Wisconsin Public Service Commission is currently conducting a Broadband Customer Survey as part of a larger effort to deploy broadband in Wisconsin (and ultimately throughout the entire nation).   The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) provides for grants to map and deploy broadband, especially to unserved and underserved areas.

By completing the survey, you can help yourself get adequate broadband sooner.  Take the PSC survey and get on the map at http://psc.wi.gov/apps35/eSurvey/Broadband/WIbroadband.aspx .  Read more about the survey and view the map of respondents at http://psc.wi.gov/recoveryAct/sfBroadband.htm

And...please share this with others.  Make the voice from Southwest Wisconsin a STRONG one!
