Welcome to Crawford County Extension

Mission

With an office in each Wisconsin county, Cooperative Extension develops practical educational programs tailored to local needs and based on university knowledge and research.

County-based Extension educators are University of Wisconsin faculty and staff who are experts in agriculture and agribusiness, community and economic development, natural resources, family living and youth development.

Extension county-based faculty and staff live and work with the people they serve in communities across the state. Extension specialists work on UW System campuses where they access current research and knowledge. Collaboration between county and campus faculty is the hallmark of Cooperative Extension in Wisconsin.

Census 2010

THE CENSUS COUNTS PEOPLE, MAKE SURE IT COUNTS YOU!

April 1st, which is designated as Census Day, our nation will be counted.  Census forms will be mailed mid-March and are to be returned by April 19th.  With only 10 questions, the 2010 Census questionnaire is one of the shortest questionnaires in history and takes just 10 minutes to complete.  Please take the time to fill out your questionnaire; it is important for the future of our community.  By completing and returning your form, you will help determine how more than $400 billion per year in federal funding is distributed to state, local and tribal governments.  Additionally, census data determine which schools receive funding for improvements; where new hospitals and roads will be built; and how we are represented at all levels of government.  By law, the Census Bureau cannot share an individual’s census questionnaire responses with anyone, including other federal agencies and law enforcement entities.  The Census totals affect funding in our community and data collected will help inform decision makers how our Community is changing.
