MEATS
EVALUATION WORKSHOPS:
Coach Becky Doman is
seeking interested youth (and parents) to gain knowledge in meats
evaluation! We encourage ALL livestock project members
and leaders to attend. Five main areas will be the focus
of the training workshops:
- Yield & Quality Grading of Beef, Sheep & Swine Carcasses
- Selecting & Ranking Meat Cuts Food Safety, Labeling & Nutrients
- Identifying Various Meat Cuts from Beef, Pork & Lamb
- Differences in Quality Grades
Workshops are held at the Dodge County
Administration Building, Juneau

LIVESTOCK QUIZ BOWL INFORMATION:
“C’MON AND JOIN THE TEAM!”
Livestock Quiz Bowl is a competition where all the questions deal with beef, sheep, or swine topics. Teams of members compete with each other in answering questions taken from the 4-H beef, sheep and swine project literature. The team with the highest final score is the winner. The contest is organized on an elimination basis with winning teams advancing into further rounds until a champion emerges! Members in grades 4 and up are welcome.
