MASTER
GARDENER TRAINING
General Training gives
a broad overview of horticultural crops and related topics. Sessions
are held during the late winter to early spring. In return, participants
perform at least 24 hours of volunteer service within their first
year.
Specialized Training
is offered to Master Gardeners in a three-year cycle of subjects
which include:

Fruits & Vegetables
-
Garden Flowers
-
Landscape Plants
& Lawns
This course consists
of 6-7 full day sessions held on consecutive Thursdays beginning
the last week of September. 24 hours of volunteer service are
expected of all participants in this course.
Continuing Education
is provided through a wide variety of programs presented by UWEX
horticulturists, as well as trips, speakers, and workshops sponsored
by the Fond du Lac County Master Gardeners. 10 hours of continuing
education and 24 hours of volunteer service are required each
year to maintain Master Gardener certification.
