SWYS - 1990 Acknowledgements

The Teen Assessment Project (SWYS) could not have been undertaken without the assistance and support of committed individuals.  We would like to recognize the contributions made by the administration and staffs of the following school districts:

  • Bloomington (including Saint Mary's)
  • Cassville (including Saint Charles)
  • Iowa-Grant
  • Potosi (including Saint Andrew & Thomas)
  • Riverdale
  • Southwestern

In particular, we want to thank the school contact persons who were instrumental in securing administrative and school board support for the project.  Special thanks to:

  • Barb Cnare, English and Physical Education - Bloomington Schools
  • Caron Townsend, Guidance Counselor - Bloomington Schools
  • Bruce Boyum, Guidance Counselor - Cassville Schools
  • Dave Fritz, Guidance Counselor - Iowa-Grant Schools
  • Gail Steiner, Learning Disabilities - Potosi Schools
  • Dave McHenry, Principal - Riverdale High School
  • Paul Velsor, Guidance Counselor - Southwestern High School
  • Steve Elvidge, Guidance Counselor - Southwestern Schools

The parents who granted consent for participation and the 1,440 students who gave their thoughtful responses cannot go without recognition.  We would also like to thank all those individuals who supported this project and share our concern for Grant County youth.

We thank the Meta Schroeder Beckner Endowment of the School of Family Resources for their financial support of the project.  We would also like to thank Donell Kerns, SWYS project assistant for her help in reviewing materials and providing guidance with survey revisions and administration.

The authors gratefully acknowledge the efforts of all who contributed to this project.
