Livestock Identification

2009-10 Beef Weigh-In Dates
Green County 4-H & FFA youth interested in showing at the 2010 Green County Junior Fair Steer Show or WI State Fair MUST have their cattle weighed and identified on Saturday, December 12th from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at Equity Livestock on Hwy 69 south of Monroe. In case of inclement weather the snow date will be Saturday January 2nd . An announcement will be made over WEKZ radio by 8 a.m. on the morning of December 12th if the weigh-in would need to be rescheduled. Each exhibitor can identify a maximum of 5 steers for the county fair and will be required to fill out Country of Origin (COOL forms), that will require both the exhibitor and parents signature. This weigh-in will also be an opportunity for exhibitors to identify cattle for the 2010 WI State Fair. State fair exhibitors will be charged a $10 fee for each steer that is identified for state fair to cover the cost of DNA testing.

Wisconsin Livestock Identification Consortium (WLIC) is registering premises as the authorized agent for the WIsconsin Department of Agriculture, the Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP). The Wisconsin Livestock Premises Registration Act requires anyone who keeps, houses, or co-mingles livestock to register their premises.
