2010 Green County Fair Changes

Starting in 2010 Sheep exhibitors will be allowed to show one managerial registered breeding animal in the sheep show. The second rule change involves adding a maximum weight of 105 pounds for all market lambs at the pre-fair weigh-in on May 1, 2010. Market Lambs that weigh more than 105 pounds at the pre-fair weigh-in on May 1 will NOT be tagged or eligible to exhibit at the 2010 Green County Fair. There is no minimum weight for lambs at the weigh-in.

There is no minimum or maximum weight at fair time to be able to exhibit market lambs at the Green County Fair. However, exhibitors are reminded that to be eligible to sell a lamb in the county fair auction they must weigh a minimum of 110 pounds. If you would like assistance in determining the ideal weight range for lambs to bring to the pre-fair weigh-in please contact your 4-H sheep project leader, Vo-Ag Instructor or Mark Mayer, Dairy and Livestock Agent at 328-9440.
