January 13, 2009 ~ A Shooting Sports Kickoff Meeting will be held at 7:00 pm, at the Government Services Building Auditorium for all shooting sports participants. See you there!

NATIONAL 4-H SHOOT PARTICIPATION

Congratulations to Amanda Butson, Dougherty Creek 4-H, for her participation in the National 4-H Shoot, June 24-28, 2009 in Grand Island, NE, in the discipline of Muzzleloading. Amanda placed 10th the first day and 8th the second day. The entire Wisconsin Team placed 14th overall at the competition where 30 states participated! The Wisconsin Muzzleloading Team placed 8th out of 14 teams, and Amanda ranked 14th out of 58 competitiors! Amanda is pictured at left with her fellow WI shooters, and her dad, Mike Butson! Great Job!

2009 GREEN COUNTY FAIR MASTER SHOOTER COMPETITION

Green County held it's first ever Master Shooter Competition. This year, we had 5 participants who competed in the areas of 22 Pistol, Air Pistol, .22 Rifle, Air Rifle, Archery, Shotgun, and Muzzleloading. Our MASTER SHOOTER WINNER this year was Brett Hefty! Congratulations to Tyler Witt, 2nd Place Winner; Rustin Alton, 3rd Place Winner; Aaron Hefty, 4th Place Winner; and Stacie Butson, 5th Place Winner! Below is the points score table!

Air Rifle/Air Pistol/.22 Rifle/.22 Pistol/Muzzleloading

Air Rifle workshops will be held Sundays starting May 2 at 1:00p.m. The workshops will be held at the Green County Rifle Range(Quarry) in Monroe. The first session is MANDATORY!!!
To claim your fair premium, Air Rifle targets must be mounted on 14x22 poster board and displayed at the Green County Fair. (Anything else attached to the poster is optional)
To claim your fair premium, Air Pistol targets must be mounted on 11x14 poster board and displayed at the Green County Fair. (Anything else attached to the poster is optional)
To claim your fair premium, .22 Rifle targets must be mounted on 11x14 poster board and displayed at the Green County Fair. (Anything else attached to the poster is optional)
To claim your fair premium, .22 Pistol targets must be mounted on 11x14 poster board and displayed at the Green County Fair. (Anything else attached to the poster is optional)
To claim your fair premium, Muzzleloading targets must be mounted on 14x22 poster board and displayed at the Green County Fair. (Anything else attached to the poster is optional)

Archery

Archery workshops will be held Tuesday nights starting April 27. The workshops will be held at the South Central WI Archers (SCWA) Indoor Range in Monroe. The first session starts at 6:30 and is MANDATORY!!! All other sessions start at 5:30.
To claim fair premium, targets must be mounted on 22x28 poster board and displayed at the Green County Fair.

Shotgun

Shotgun shoots will be held Friday nights starting April 9 at the Blackhawk Sportsman's Club, 2773 Cty B, South Wayne. Take Hwy 69 South out of Monroe, turn right on Cty B. The first session is MANDATORY!!!
To claim fair premium, fair shoot must be mounted on 11x14 poster board and displayed at the Green County Fair.
