March 6, 2007 ~ Ethical Conflict Subject of Green County Leaders Alumni Breakfast
Richard Kyte, Director of the D. B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership and Associate Professor at Viterbo University in La Crosse spoke at the March 6, 2007 GCL Alumni Breakfast. Kyte shared with the audience a four way method for looking at ethical dilemmas. He discussed how people often use different forms of reasoning to reach their conclusions about ethical issues such as capital punishment. In using different forms of reasoning, two people can reach very different yet logical conclusions about the issue confronting them. Until we understand the reasoning used by other people, Kyte says we will view the other person as being irrational in their conclusions on the issue at hand. This program was part of the Wisconsin Humanities Council Speakers Bureau, was sponsored by The Swiss Colony, and hosted at the Monroe Campus of Blackhawk Technical College.
