Stirring the Pot: Dialogue, Discussion and Dinner in the Dairyland is a picnic celebration of summer gardening bounty held from June through August at the Monroe Arts Center, in Monroe, WI. Each attendee brings their own picnic to a fun forum event where area residents gather and learn about creating a healthy, green and sustainable local food system. A grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council enables Cara Carper, Green County UW-Extension, to lead these events. Stirring the Pot offers something for everyone in the family. Area "guest chefs" share their secrets for cooking fresh tasty dishes, while attendees enjoy their own picnic. Kids activities are provided as well as local live musicians performing.   Mark Olson, Culinary Arts Program, Blackhawk Technical College demonstrated: Goat Cheese and Oven Dried Strudel with Basil Oil

  Steph Culberson, Culinary Adventures, The Goose Chaser Farm shared her expertise with us and demonstrated: Spaetzle with Roasted Pine Nuts and Brussel Sprouts

  Other recipes submitted by local producers included Spanakopita; Yogurt Spinach Dip; and Letuce Salad with Honey Balsamic Dressing (All submitted by Brenda Carus);
