UPDATES
The South Central Wisconsin Master Gardener Association will be meeting on Thursday, March 26th at 7:00 PM. This month's featured speakers are Deb Grams and Jim Haseman from the Rock Prairie Master Gardener Association. They will be explaining how to make and use a rain barrel. The public is encouraged to attend the monthy meetings and there is no charge to attend.

Thirty-four Green County area residents were recently recognized for earning their UW-Extension Master Gardener Certification at the annual meeting of the South Central Wisconsin Master Gardeners Association. Master Gardener volunteers provide services to their community by assisting citizens in addressing horticultural problems. The Master Gardener program is an all-volunteer organization sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Extension. Read the full news release.
Brown Bag WisLine Programs
The 12-1 PM monthly programs are educational programs offered
generally the last Friday of each monthly except holiday months
(ie. NOV and DEC and sometimes other months with key holidays)
when the program is held one week earlier than the holiday weekend:
note dates). The programs are designed for statewide Master
Gardeners and other persons interested in horticultural topics. 2009

The South Central
Master Gardener Association's Mission is:
- To serve the needs of all gardeners in Green County and the
surrounding area.
- To promote the continuing education of members through horticultural
education, programs, tours, etc.
- To promote community service through volunteer activities.
- To recognize members who meet and maintain certification.
- To provide for the exchange of ideas and to provide opportunities
to promote the understanding of responsible gardening practices
- To provide a link between the community and the UW-Extension.
2009 Educational Programs
South Central Wisconsin Master Gardeners now have the use of a new reference library to use in answering questions from homeowners or in researching topics you may be interested in. The reference materials are located in the hallway area near the Green County UW-Extension Office in the Government Services Building, Monroe. A listing of the reference materials that are currently available.
