The Young Professionals of Green County held their annual event to honor the 2009 nominated young professionals for Green County at the Monroe Clinic on April 23rd. Nominees included Jennifer Amiel, Molly Campbell, Brenda Carus, Eric Jerdee, Megan Jorenby, Melissa Perdue, Tyler Peters, Jeremy Pinnow, Crimson Pulver, Tom Purdy, Lori Rodefeld, Tory Tullis-Zettle, Chris Soukup, Donald Wickstrum, and Laura Winters. This year, the event and award were sponsored by The Monroe Clinic. A panel of judges reviewed the nominee paperwork and selected Donald Wickstrum as the winner. Don is the founder and owner of Quest Industrial, volunteers as a youth pastor, fosters entrepreneurism, and supports the growth of local businesses!

Green County UW-Extension is coordinating a survey to assess interest in creating a fully certified, commercially equipped kitchen available for use by local growers and producers of foods products, caterers, restaurants, chefs, special event food vendors, bakers, groups and organizations. The facility is for anyone who has a dream of producing and marketing a food product, but lacks the space, equipment, financial resources or support of others to do it. Join us for a beginner to intermediate food preservation workshop! Three Master Food Preservers through Green County UW-Extension will provide a hands-on training. Learn to can with hot water bath, pressure canners - and when to use them. Learn how to freeze with the best possible results. We will also discuss different methods for drying foods.
When: 9:00am-3:00pm, Saturday July 11th

The I CAN PROBLEM SOLVE approach for parents and caregivers of children age 4-7
Words parents and caregivers use with children set the stage for a child to think and independently solve problems. Children need practice thinking g of alternatives and developing their problem solving skills.
When: Wednesdays, June 24 - August 12
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Cost for the 8 sessions is $15.00.
