Nutrition Education in Iron County
WNEP is an educational program for income eligible Iron County
residents. WNEP instructors share information on nutrition, food
shopping, and financial resource management. WNEP is brought
to you by University of Wisconsin - Cooperative Extension and
the Iron County Extension office.

Who can receive education through WNEP?
- Low income Iron County residents (youth, families, senior
citizens) who receive or are eligible for food stamps can receive
education through WNEP. (Residents who are NOT low income can
receive education through Family Living Nutrition Education
programs.) All we ask is that you be willing to learn!
In what ways do WNEP educators teach?
- Iron County WNEP educators teach small and large group lessons
at senior citizen dining sites, to youth at schools and after-school & summer
programs, to individuals and families in homes and at our UWEX
office.
- Iron County WNEP educators teach through walk-by exhibits
at WIC (Women, Infant, Children program) sites, at county fairs,
at Health Departments and other sites.
- Iron County WNEP educators teach through practical demonstrations
at grocery stores and other sites, such as the internet.

POSITION VACANCY
UW EXTENSION – Nutrition Education Office Associate - Limited Term Employment (subject to annual renewal). $10.50/hour – maximum 20 hours/wk. (no other benefits). WISCONSIN RESIDENCY REQUIRED. Required clerical duties include database and competency in MS Office 2003 Word, Publisher & Excel. Skill test required for finalists.
