The First Years
Last Forever is a program on early brain development.
We know that early experiences impact the development of
the brain and influence the specific way in which the circuits
of the brain become "wired. To learn more about early
brain development, visit this web site: http://www.wccf.org/projects/beginnings.html
The
Tiny Tot Jamboree, a weekend event, promotes early
brain development for young children. Parents and children can
enjoy numerous experiences related to touch, talk, read, smile,
sing, count, and play, that help the child's brain develop.
Home Alone -
The series assists parents in identifying and developing a
workable self-care plan for their family. It is offered annually.
Attending the Home Alone series helps families decide if their
children are ready for self-care. Home Alone covers three areas:
-
Helping children learn self-care skills,
-
Guidelines for keeping children safe
-
Making a home alone plan.
The
Positive Parenting Toolkit is a program filled
with strategies for parents including nurturing tools and
guidance tools. Raising young children can be challenging.
If you sometimes run out of ideas to manage the behavior
of your young child, you may want to attend.
Supporting
Children During Divorce is a two-session program
that promotes positive strategies to support children as
parents divorce. The program helps parents become more
sensitive toward their children and offers ideas to help
minimize the children's exposure to conflict. Contact the
Extension office for upcoming dates.
