As a county based educator I deal with a wide array of questions, ranging from lawns and gardens to farm woodlot management to dairy and livestock production to farm management. While I enjoy the diversity and can easily handle many basic questions in regards to all of those topics, if I don't have the answer I can find someone in the UW System who can. However, even a "County Agent" needs to specialize a bit today so most of my work is in the following areas:
- Grazing Based Livestock Production Systems
- Agricultural Land Use Planning
- Farm Business Management
- Agricultural Economic Development Strategies
- Organizational Development for Farm Businesses and Associations
One of the most interesting projects I've been involved with is the Agribusiness Incubator Project.
