May 15
“Improving Transition Times”
6 - 8 P.M., Manitowoc County Office Complex
Moving from place to place, activity to activity, is often filled with tears, screaming, and tantrums.  Learn how you can smooth transitions to make them productive, fun times for children and stress free for adults.  This program is geared to Manitowoc County childcare providers.  It is free and continuing education units are provided.  Register through Ruth at the UW-Extension office at 683-4169 by Tuesday, May 13th.

Foster Parent  Appreciation Afternoon
1-3 P.M., Manitowoc County Office Complex
The HCE Association members are involved in several community outreach programs this year including the recognition of foster care parents  on Friday, May 16th.  Members assembled 60 appreciation baskets for foster parents and have invited them to a social in recognition of their commitment to strong family values.  Remarks will be made by Manitowoc County Executive Bob Ziegelbauer, Foster Parent Coordinator, Patty Timm, and several members of the UW-Extension HCE Association.

“Hunger Close to Home”
1-3 P.M. Manitowoc County Office Complex
Manitowoc County food pantry managers, their Board members, and others interested in addressing the food needs and food access for Manitowoc County families, are invited to this meeting.  Discussion will be focused on current demographic data and future collaborations which can help to assure food accessibility for residents most at risk of not having enough to eat.  Persons interested in attending should call Faye at the UW-Extension Family Living office at 683-4171, or email fayemalek@co.manitowoc.wi.us by Friday, May 16th.

Presented by Lylene Scholz, Shirley Oswald and Faye Malek.  Enjoy first hand stories and experiences from trips around the world taken by Faye in Mexico, Lylene in Turkey and Finland, and Shirley in Poland!
