MARATHON
COUNTY CONSERVATION, PLANNING, & ZONING (CPZ)
The Marathon
County Department Of Conservation, Planning and Zoning mission
is to create, advocate and implement strategies to conserve natural
and community resources. The department recommends and designs
best management practices for soil conservation and water quality
protection, to be implemented by individual landowners. They are
also involved with the preparation and implementation of the capital
improvement program (CIP), land use planning, transportation planning
services for the metropolitan area (MPO) and the implementation
of the Geographic Information System (GIS). CPZ issues zoning,
sanitary and other permits which are required by the County's
zoning, shore land, private sewage system, airport, subdivision,
nonmetallic mining and other ordinances.
