The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Marathon County makes and guarantees loans and provides credit counseling and supervision to farmers and ranchers who are temporarily unable to obtain private, commercial credit. FSA also provides compensation to farmers and ranchers that have incurred losses to crops or livestock due to natural disasters, for milk income loss (MILC), and conservation compliance through direct and counter-cyclical program (DCP). FSA Operator's & Landowner's Forms
Beginning 1 October 2006, the county FSA offices will no longer be allowed to provide some forms to producers due to a change in policy from Washington. Consequently, some county FSA offices asked their county Extension offices if they would hand out two forms for farm operators to show that they own 100% of the crops from the land.
