PARTNERSHIP
FOR PROGRESSIVE AGRICULTURE (PPA)
The mission of the PPA is
to serve as a catalyst for Marathon County agriculture.
Its vision is to bring together diverse members of Marathon County's
agribusiness community to:
- stimulate agricultural economic development
- assist entrepreneurial efforts
- encourage advocacy and communication among/for agribusinesses
- communicate, educate and promote contributions made by agribusinesses
to the local economy and communities
- foster responsible stewardship of land
- facilitate creative, progressive and innovative agricultural
activity

There are two volunteer driven subcommittees - economic development/advocacy and education/promotions organized to accomplish these tasks. Ag producers and agribusiness all types are involved in PPA activities.
Economic Development & Advocacy
- Promotes and supports the Dairyland State Academy.
- Identifies key issues and hosts roundtable discussions with industry experts.
- Partners with UW-Extension to provide educational seminars and tours.
- Leadership in advocacy on issues that are important to your business.
Education & Promotions
- Functions as the Marathon County Dairy Promotions Council through Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board.
- Hosts the Ag Adventure Tent at the Wisconsin Valley Fair.
- Plans and implements the June Dairy Breakfast.
- Host the Farm City Dinner.
