MARATHON COUNTY WILL HAVE TWO DRILLS AVAILABLE THIS SPRING
FOR INTER-SEEDING PASTURES OR COMPLETE RENOVATION

TRUAX DRILL: The Truax Drill works great for inter-seeding clovers & small seeded grasses into existing pastures that
aren’t real dense or have been set back with Roundup or very hard grazing. The Truax drill is owned by Marathon County.

AITCHISON DRILL: The Aitchison no-till drill was imported from New Zealand and made specifically for inter-seeding
and complete renovation of pastures. It can handle a complete seed mix in one hopper and does a very good job in most situations, except it does not go through large amounts of long residue very well. The Aitchison drill, owned by Marathon County, was paid for by grants from Upland Chapter of Pheasants Forever, Alpha Ag Inc, GrassWorks Inc, Barenbrug Seeds, and the Lincoln and Marathon County Land Conservation Departments.

COSTS: Either drill will cost $50 per use, plus $3 per acre. Both drills are available for use in Marathon and Lincoln
Counties but must only be used for managed pastures or wildlife food plots..

To be placed on the list, you must complete the operating agreement below and return it along with your payment.
