HOW
TO JOIN MARQUETTE COUNTY 4-H
Who
can join?
4-H Members are in 3rd
grade through grade 13 (one year beyond high school). They can
enroll in projects and exhibit animals. Youth in Kindergarten
through 2nd grade can enroll in Cloverbuds. Cloverbuds participate
in their own age-appropriate, non-competitive activities and cannot
exhibit live animals. They can exhibit items about their animals.
4-H Adult Volunteers
are an important part of the 4-H program. Adults (18 years old
and up) can be volunteers. Those 18 years that are enrolled in
4-H as a member cannot be an adult leader, however there is opportunities
for Junior Leadership. Chaperones for 4-H-sponsored trips must
be 21.
What
do I need to do to join?
Every 4-H Member, Volunteer
Leader and Cloverbud must complete a
4-H Enrollment Form annually. Returning participants who do
not complete an Enrollment Form are deleted from the database.
Volunteer Adult Leaders must sign a
Volunteer Behavior Expectations Agreement as well. There is
an annual enrollment fee.
When
can I join 4-H?
The deadline for returning
members to re-enroll is November 1. New members can join at any
time, but the deadline for new 4-H members is March 1 in order
to exhibit at the Marquette County Fair. Adult volunteers may
join at any time, although returning volunteers should enroll
by November 1 to ensure continued information. These deadlines
are for forms to be in the UW-Extension Office in Montello. Individual
clubs may have earlier deadlines.
