Milwaukee County Junior 4-H Fair

It’s time to register for the Milwaukee County Junior 4-H Fair held at the
Waukesha County Fairgrounds. 4-H Youth can enter exhibits to showcase their work in a 4-H project.

Fair Judging (July 13th and 14th, check fair book departments.)
and Fair Events are held
Wednesday July 15th, 2009 to Sunday, July 19, 2009

**Fair Entry Forms AND admissions fees are due May 28, 2009
to the Milwaukee Co. 4–H Office**

Where do I get Fair Entry Forms?

• Your club leaders will distribute the Fair Forms for youth in your club. Contact your club leader to receive your Entry Form or download the Fair Entry Form as a Word document or PDF.

How do I register for Fair?

• Fair Entry Forms are DUE ON THURSDAY, MAY 28th, 2009 postmark on or before May 28th will be honored. LATE REGISTRATIONS CAN NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Guidelines for Completing Fair Entry Forms

1. List all exhibits the youth wishes to enter into the fair. If you do not make an entry, the youth will not be penalized. But it must be entered on the form or it will not be judged.

2. Sign up for the Self Determined project area on the 4-H enrollment form and fair entry form if you are unsure of the projects that youth will be make for fair.

3. Youth who participated in the pre-fair contests must enter the information on their fair form and exhibit the item at fair. This policy only applies to categories eligible for a premium, monetary prize. Review each contest’s guide lines for more details. Contest include: Live Horse and Model Live Model Horse Show, Favorite Foods Revue, Clothing Preview, Communication Arts Fest., and Music & Drama Fest.

*** If you are entering in a project area in which you are not presently enrolled on your Youth Enrollment form, each youth must update their enrollment using the Add or Drop form, contact your club leader or download it from the 4-H Forms web page. This must be done by April 30th.

Don’t forget new enrollment forms are due by April 30th.

How do I know what to enter?

• Get a copy of the 2008-2009 Fair Entry Book. The current Fair Entry Book is available online at www.waukeshacountyfair.com
• Or, a copy of the Fair Book can be purchased from the 4-H Office. The cost is $5.00 per book.

When does judging take place? (July 13th and 14th)

• You must check judging schedule (different projects are judged on different days) listed on this Waukesha County Fair website and inside the Entry Book. Your club leaders have a copy of the schedule or you can download the Judging Schedule.

Fair Admission Policy (July 15th-19th)

• Adults and 4-H youth must purchase admission passes and parking passes to enter the fair park. Entry fees are listed on the Entry Form.
• On Wednesday, July 15, 2009, admission is $1.00 per person.
• Submit the admission fee payments and requests with your entry form by Friday, May 28th.
